When the Bear 100 was first conceived, Leland hoped for a point-to-point run from Logan to Bear Lake. Regulatory hurdles prevented this from happening for many years. Because of your stewardship over your forest, the Wasatch-Cache/Uinta National Forest, along with the Caribou National Forest, have granted permission for the point-to-point course originally contemplated.

** There is a significant change to the course at Mile 49. The Tony Grove Aid station will not be accessible for 2021 due to construction. The Twin Creek Aid station (and re-route) will be used for this year only. Crews will NOT be allowed at Twin Creek. Pacers will need to start at Temple Fork (or RHF) and continue to Franklin Basin. No pacer swap is allowed at Twin Creek. We recognize this is inconvenient and not ideal. However, it is the only way we could allow the course to cross through the gorgeous Tony Grove and White Pine areas. We have retained 98% of the original course by making this re-route. This re-route did add about a mile and half to the course.
** The finish line moved up the road about 3/4 of a mile to a new location. For 2021 it will finish at Bear Lake Lodge Rentals (681 Fish Haven Canyon Rd, Fish Haven, ID 83287). This will make the overall mileage close to 101 miles for 2021.
